For Nanna.. In My Heart.

I appreciate this post and card may not be for everyone.. It's perhaps not many peoples cup of tea, but I wanted to create a card for my Nanna and Ampa (grampa!) who are no longer with me.

I lost my Ampa 5 years ago... (I'm assuming I couldn't say Grampa properly when I was younger and so Ampa stuck!), the time has flown in some ways, in others not so much.
He passed away the day before his and my Nannas anniversary, the following day after that was her birthday..

It was my Nanna that got me into card making in the first place, we would watch the Create and Craft channel, share ideas.. She'd show me her magazine freebies she had played with, she would often text me about the interesting things she was watching on the craft channels, we'd shop together and we'd  share each other's crafty items too!

It's a little silly perhaps, but since finding Lawn Fawn and Mama Elephant and liking them so much, I always think "what would Nanna make of these.. I wonder if she would like them as much as I do.. I wish I could show her.."
I would take her to Hobbycraft and The Range, we would see Xcut and Sizzix on sale in there, but there was never anything close to Lawn Fawn or Mama Elephant and so since finding them online my love of their stamps and grown, I miss being able to share my fondness of their products with her, being able to hear her opinion, I wonder if she would want to borrow them to play with!

It was only earlier this year that I lost my Nanna, so in remembrance of them both I decided to make a card to leave at the Remembrance Room where their funerals took place.

It was difficult to know what to make because I've never made a card for this type of occasion, but I hope it goes a little way to show that my love for them goes on even though they're no longer around.

I used Mama Elephant In my Heart stamps, I have the dies but I preferred the look of the images without the white surround so I did some dreaded fussy cutting! I like the little birdie too as my Nanna has a little blue budgie.. He's residing at my Dads now so I still get to hear him talk, when he does he sounds just like my Nanna which I love!
I used the Misti to ensure the sentiment was in the right place.. Which was lucky, because as usual, the first stamped sentiment wasn't fully stamped (I've ruined countless cards doing that right at the very end, so frustrating right?!)
I used Mama Elephant Madison Frame and I also used Lawn Fawn Puffy Clouds and stitched hillside dies

I hope you like it :)
